Hear From Our Partners

We’ve been really blessed, and so humbled, by the number of people who have chosen to make an investment in our organization – which we then invest to take the work to the next level. Every proposal we receive is ranked by a distinguished peer review physician group, and scored against the goal that within the next ten years, it will impact the care of a person with breast cancer. ASCO’s program scores very high marks against those requirements. One of our core issues is our strong focus on vulnerable populations and addressing disparities in access to care. Our partnership with ASCO is a beautiful match, and I look forward to what our work together will contribute to the field.”
Liz Thompson, President, Susan G. Komen for the Cure®

“The value of clinical research cannot be emphasized strongly enough. One of the targets identified by our medical steering committee, early on, was the importance of attracting bright young minds to the field of renal cancer research. We partnered with the Conquer Cancer Foundation to award an annual Young Investigator Award because of the expertise resident in the organization, because of the difference in scale – we knew that they would receive more and better-quality proposals – and because of the efficiency of the process, which relieves our small organization of the financial and logistical burden of reviewing proposals. We’re very pleased with our collaboration. It’s an extremely effective synergy.”
William Bro, CEO of the Kidney Cancer Association

“A core element of the mission of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation – and its founding principle – is to raise and distribute funds in support of high-quality research. Nothing optimizes that work more powerfully than our partnership with ASCO and the Conquer Cancer Foundation. Our values are congruent, our shared passion runs deep, and our skill sets complement each other very well. The Conquer Cancer Foundation is uniquely positioned to identify and support America’s top researchers – especially the young investigators who will carry this work into the future. We are delighted to be part of this very effective strategic partnership.”
Evelyn H. Lauder, Founder and Chairperson, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation

“The Lance Armstrong Foundation has hada long and productive history with ASCO and the Conquer Cancer Foundation. The breadth and reach of ASCO is second to none. Our goal is to elevate survivorship issues among the global oncology community, which is of course extremely well represented among ASCO’s membership. We are particularly excited about our latest partnership, which will provide top-notch, best-of-class resources for physicians through ASCO University™ – with an initial offering called Focus Under Forty. People between 15 and 39 are the only group for whom survival has not improved over the past 30 years. We need to address this survival curve, and we think the way to do it is to educate providers about detecting and treating cancer in young adults. The health care system is set up for pediatrics and adult medicine, and teens and young adults fall into the middle – with a lot of unique issues, from psychosocial aspects of diagnosis and treatment to fertility preservation. For us to have the opportunity to collaborate on this vitally important professional education initiative – with such a quality partner – is really significant.”
